The Lake Charles Fire Department - includes eight fire stations and 15 fire companies. A fire company is the equipment and the assigned personnel assigned to the fire stations. The department has eight engine companies, five ladder companies and two tankers to respond to fires within the LCFD response area.
Lake Charles firefighters are members of the IAFF Local 561
